Gold Key | PHR is the largest hospitality employer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Otto has been working with Gold Key | PHR for the past 18 years, providing services ranging from creative to strategic planning and support for a majority of their hotel and food and beverage operations. As the developer of Hilton Norfolk The Main, Downtown Norfolk’s newest upscale hotel, dining, and meeting destination, Gold Key | PHR engaged Otto to brand the landmark hotel and market two grand opening events.
Otto developed a comprehensive plan to brand the hotel including a website, video, billboards, and a groundbreaking event attended by over 500 people. After completion of the destination hotel, Otto spearheaded two additional events. A Weekend Celebration for the Arts and The Grand Opening were back-to-back weekend events designed to generate excitement and awareness for The Main. Otto created ticketing websites for both events and developed a targeted digital campaign specific to each audience. Utilizing social media, web banners, retargeting and email marketing, The Arts Weekend attracted high-income patrons who were likely to contribute to fundraisers for visual and performing arts. The same tools were used to promote The Grand Opening Weekend, targeting every-day citizens with family friendly performances by Cirque Productions and adult entertainment by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
