We needed a big idea to create excitement and awareness about all that Slover Library had to offer, as well as to generate traffic for the Grand Opening weekend. So we called the doctor—Dr. Seuss! We employed guerrilla marketing and street-level opportunities for special promotions. Additionally, we produced 11” x 17” posters that were displayed in stores, Tide stations and restaurants around the City, as well as sidewalk clings in Downtown Norfolk. We also produced a grand opening commercial, and then topped it off with a 30-foot Cat in the Hat that sat at the entrance of the library for the Grand Opening festivities.
