Director of Digital & Social Media

The role is responsible for developing and executing a variety of digital, social media, email marketing, and website strategies, including search and display advertising, content marketing, SEO, email marketing, and organic and paid social media.

Digital and Social Media Director Job Duties:

  • Develop and execute organic and paid social media strategies on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Twitter for a multitude of clients in a variety of industries; make use of lookalike audiences and geofencing tactics
  • Oversee digital advertising, including Google Ads, Bing/Yahoo ads, and video; write ads, manage keyword lists, and implement retargeting and geotargeting tactics
  • Manage website development projects with third-party vendor; monitor timelines and deliverables, implement improvements to UX and functionality, and assist with SEO and copywriting as needed
  • Provide project management and account management support on all digital projects
  • Program HTML email blasts, manage subscriber lists, troubleshoot delivery issues, and incorporate audience segmentation
  • Research brand positioning, competitive outlook, and audience data to produce communications plans that inform campaigns
  • Create editorial content calendars for client accounts and post accordingly; monitor social media platforms and respond to user inquiries
  • Manage client websites on an ongoing basis; analyze web traffic reports, report on KPIs, oversee web hosting and domain billing, maintain plugins, and perform technical updates
  • Monitor results and trends across digital and social campaigns, and produce reports for client and account management team
  • Coordinate digital RFP responses; recommend strategies, estimate pricing, and work with creative to pull relevant case studies
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and other team members about digital and social media platforms, concepts, strategies and tactics
  • Oversee Otto’s digital projects, including website, emails, and email accounts for the team


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience in digital advertising, social media, and website management
  • Proficient in Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Google My Business, and HTML/CSS
  • Proficient in content management systems such as WordPress and Squarespace
  • Proficient in web development, digital and social media campaign management, and content marketing
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to quickly learn new programs
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and account management skills
  • Excellent writer, proofreader, and communicator with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to proactively recognize needs, balance multiple projects and clients, manage daily workload, and prioritize tasks
